Welcome to the website for Oficina da Capoeira, Chichester.

There are classes for everyone - adults and children are welcome to the evening classes, and there is also a class for 4 to 10 year olds.

The first lesson is free, after that classes are £3 for the childrens' class, or £4 for children (under 18) and £6 for adults. No need to book, just turn up.

Monday classes:

16:30 to 17:30 (4 to 10 year olds) The Regis School of Music, 46 Sudley Road, Bognor Regis, PO21 1ER.

19:30 to 21:00 (for everyone) The Lodge, Graylingwell Park, Chichester, PO19 6YS.

New to capoeira? No worries! Complete beginners are welcome, whatever your fitness level or experience. You'll just need to wear to sports clothes to start - jogging bottoms, yoga pants, shorts etc are all fine; and a t shirt that's not to baggy.

Friday roda 14th August

Sorry for forgetting last Friday's roda. Being on summer holidays has made me lose all sense of time!

Three announcements first:

A reminder that this Thursday I will be flying to Germany to my brother's wedding, and so there is no class. However, Neo is happy to take the lead on getting some practice in, and if you'd like to join in, contact him via the Facebook page, or drop me an email and I will pass details on.

Secondly, our t shirts will look like this. I'm still finding the best quote (a couple have said they match quotes, so will see if I can play one off against the other to get us all the best deal). I'll announce the price on Monday, but it should be about £13 at the most. A big thank you to Esperta from the Cheltenham Oficina group for getting this design together.

We will be at the Get Active Festival on Sunday 6th September. It's from 12:00 - 16:00. It's a fun day out - I've been to the last two (in fact it was at the last Get Active Festival that I met Jack, who arranged for us to use Grit Gym for our lessons). If you could spare an hour that day to help staff our stand, it would be a great help. It'll be an excellent opportunity to grow our numbers.

Finally, here's the roda video. This week it features Mestre Zulu and Mestre Tonhão
