Welcome to the website for Oficina da Capoeira, Chichester.

Our classes are open to everyone, and are 19:30 - 21:00 Mondays and Thursdays.

The first lesson is free, and after that classes are £4 for children (under 18) and £6 for adults. No need to book, just turn up.

Monday classes are at The Lodge, Graylingwell Park, Chichester, PO19 6YS.
Thursday classes are at Grit Gym, Station Approac, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 8GA

New to capoeira? No worries! Complete beginners are welcome, whatever your fitness level or experience. You'll just need to wear to sports clothes to start - jogging bottoms, yoga pants, shorts etc are all fine; and a t shirt that's not to baggy.

Follow these links to find out a bit more about our teacher; Oficina da Capoiera, our capoeira school; and photos from some of our group's activities.

And the winner is...

Thank you to everyone that stopped by at our stand at the Get Active Festival today.

For those new to capoeira, feel free to explore the websites, every Friday I post a video showing capoeira being played around the world, and on the right you will see some links under "Capoeira basics", this list will grow as I write more content for this website.

For those that entered the competition, you have been emailed with the results, here's how they were done:

Here is the final map with the competition entries:

I had the same map, but with Belo Horizonte (the city in which Mestre Ray founded Oficina da Capoeira) marked. I put this over the map and secured it with Blu Tak, stuck a pin through it to mark the map below.

I then measured the distances to the point made by the pin.

Number 14 (Ben) was first, at 11mm, and wins three free lessons; number 20 (Rosa) was second, at 21mm, and wins two free lessons; and in third place was 25 (Susanna) at 26mm, and wins one free lesson. These lessons are all in addition to the first lesson which is free to everyone, whether you entered the competition or not.

Thanks to Ben and Chichester District Council for putting the Get Active Festival together.

Lastly, a big thank you to students Neo and Saudade, and my wife Helen for helping out today. Couldn't have done it with out you, it was gratefully appreciated!
