Welcome to the website for Oficina da Capoeira, Chichester.

Our classes are open to everyone, and are 19:30 - 21:00 Mondays and Thursdays.

The first lesson is free, and after that classes are £4 for children (under 18) and £6 for adults. No need to book, just turn up.

Monday classes are at The Lodge, Graylingwell Park, Chichester, PO19 6YS.
Thursday classes are at Grit Gym, Station Approac, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 8GA

New to capoeira? No worries! Complete beginners are welcome, whatever your fitness level or experience. You'll just need to wear to sports clothes to start - jogging bottoms, yoga pants, shorts etc are all fine; and a t shirt that's not to baggy.

Follow these links to find out a bit more about our teacher; Oficina da Capoiera, our capoeira school; and photos from some of our group's activities.

Round up of upcoming Chichester Capoeira notices

Change of time for next week:

Firstly, next week's class has been moved to Friday 25th September, 20:00 - 21:30 at Grit Gym, as I have to be at my school's open evening.

Ways to support our group:

You can help us raise money by signing up to Easy Fundraising (more information on Easy Fundraising here). It will cost you nothing, except a little time, and whenever you buy stuff online, we can get a proportion of that from the retailer.

You can help us online by subscribing on YouTube; liking on Facebook and following on Twitter, and if you found us through Netmums, feel free to leave a review.

Upcoming events:

3rd October there's the 5th Festival of Capoeira Muzenza, Eastbourne. I'll be going, there's space in my car if you'd like to come too.

10th October, Mestrando Primo is leaving for Italy, and so there is a farewell capoeira workshop in Cheltenham.

And, it's a long way off, but 30th January there's a capoeira workshop (with special guest Contra Mestre Cobra)/social for my birthday. More importantly, the workshop will help fund cancer treatment for Contra Mestre Cobra's mother in law.

T shirts/berimbaus

I am still waiting for some of the t shirt money. As soon as it is all in I will place the order. However, this does mean, if you didn't order a t shirt, there is still time!

If you would like a berimbau, then they are £30, and money has to be in by 1st December. Unlike the t shirts where the ordering can be delayed, the berimbau are being picked up by Instrutor Nego Lua in Brazil, if the money isn't in in time, then no berimbau! The berimbau will be with us to bring to the January workshop!
