Weekly roda 22nd November

Now we have a class for children starting on January 11th, here is a jogo entre criancas, a game between children:

A reminder that we have a little over two weeks left to hit our target of six berimbaus for the group - we've almost raised enough for three, please donate what you can to the Chichester Capoeira Berimbau Appeal.

Weekly roda 15th November

Before we get to the roda, the Capoeira Chichester Berimbau Appeal is going well, we've raised enough for two berimbaus already, and are just £15 away from getting to the half way mark. If we beat our £210, we'll be able to get more than six berimbaus for the group! Please donate what you can, or pass the link on to your nearest and dearest: https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/CapoeiraChichester

Here's the weekly roda, with Mestre Guara and Professor Neguinho. I think it's a great example of how capoeira is a dance, a fight and a game!:

Capoeira Chichester Berimbau Appeal

Instrutor Lua is going to Brazil in December and will be able to get us some berimbaus.

Some of our students can afford their own, but not everyone. It would be a shame for students to miss out on berimbau practice due to a lack of funds.

The Capoeira Chichester Berimbau Appeal has a goal of raising £210 so that we can buy four berimbaus for the group.

With a new class coming in January which will have more of a focus on music (more details soon), there will be much more opportunity to focus on practicing the instruments and the songs, as well as the physical side.

Please help support the appeal so everyone in Chichester can get the full capoeira experience, thank you!

Weekly roda 8th November

It's been a manic week,  and a nice, but busy weekend. Nice to finish it with the weekly roda:

Here's a nice roda, with contact being made between the players, but no aggression. It clearly shows capoeira is a dance, a fight and a game!
