Welcome to the website for Oficina da Capoeira, Chichester.

There are classes for everyone - adults and children are welcome to the evening classes, and there is also a class for 4 to 10 year olds.

The first lesson is free, after that classes are £3 for the childrens' class, or £4 for children (under 18) and £6 for adults. No need to book, just turn up.

Monday classes:

16:30 to 17:30 (4 to 10 year olds) The Regis School of Music, 46 Sudley Road, Bognor Regis, PO21 1ER.

19:30 to 21:00 (for everyone) The Lodge, Graylingwell Park, Chichester, PO19 6YS.

Thursday classes:
19:30 to 21:00 (for everyone)

New to capoeira? No worries! Complete beginners are welcome, whatever your fitness level or experience. You'll just need to wear to sports clothes to start - jogging bottoms, yoga pants, shorts etc are all fine; and a t shirt that's not to baggy.

Weekly round up 19th June

Firstly, happy Fathers' Day to all the dads out there!

Sorry for no post last week - I was busy GCSE marking and simply didn't have the time.

Two big notices this week:

Monday classes are at a new venue and time:
19:30 - 21:00 The Lodge, Greylingwell Park, Chichester, PO19 6YS. £6 for adults, £4 for children.

Saturday 25th sees our road trip to our Oficina da Capoeira family in Bristol for a workshop and kids' batizado, followed by a BBQ. There is still some space in my car, so let me know if you'd like to come - we'll be leaving Chichester at 07:30. Full details of the event are here.

We'll finish with a video of Contra Mestre Nego Teta and Mestre JoĆ£ozinho in the roda. For those there on Thursday, have a look for what we were learning about - playing with each other; each move have intent behind it, even if it doesn't make contact; and above all the playfulness in the game:
