Welcome to the website for Oficina da Capoeira, Chichester.

Our classes are open to everyone, and are 19:30 - 21:00 Mondays and Thursdays.

The first lesson is free, and after that classes are £4 for children (under 18) and £6 for adults. No need to book, just turn up.

Monday classes are at The Lodge, Graylingwell Park, Chichester, PO19 6YS.
Thursday classes are at Grit Gym, Station Approac, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 8GA

New to capoeira? No worries! Complete beginners are welcome, whatever your fitness level or experience. You'll just need to wear to sports clothes to start - jogging bottoms, yoga pants, shorts etc are all fine; and a t shirt that's not to baggy.

Weekly round up 25th July

Now that school's out for the summer, I can devote more time to capoeira, and it's time to do a big push to get our group growing even bigger and better!

More flyers and posters are arriving Wednesday - so if you'd like to take some to give to your friends, put up in your local corner shop, or somewhere else to help spread the word and grow our group, that would be great, I can give you some in class.

On top of that, there will be two free taster sessions in Florence Park, Chichester, both 11:00am to 11:45am. Open to everybody - complete beginners, as well as regular students. Help spread the word! The first is Saturday 30th July and the second is Saturday 6th August.

On top of that, I hope you've already got 4th September in your diary - it's the Get Active Festival. Another great chance to show Chichester how awesome capoeira is, and to have some fun too!

There are other ways to help us grow - find us on social media FacebookTwitter and WhatsApp if you haven't already.

It's the final call for t shirt orders - if you'd like either of these, please let me know by tomorrow.

We'll finish with a special roda, it's celebrating the birthday of Contra Mestre Hiram Ribeiro, but it's also being posted especially for Saiya-jin - following on from the amazing 9th International Capoeira Festival, he was asking how to get into tesoura angola in a natural way. As luck would have it, the very move featured in Contra Mestre Hiram Ribeiro's birthday roda.

Whilst the best way to find out how to flow into moves is to practice and play in the roda, you can learn a lot by watching other people play in the roda. That is one of the main reasons I post these videos each week - the more roda time you get, the better you get!

See you all in class!
