Welcome to the website for Oficina da Capoeira, Chichester.

There are classes for everyone - adults and children are welcome to the evening classes, and there is also a class for 4 to 10 year olds.

The first lesson is free, after that classes are £3 for the childrens' class, or £4 for children (under 18) and £6 for adults. No need to book, just turn up.

Monday classes:

16:30 to 17:30 (4 to 10 year olds) The Regis School of Music, 46 Sudley Road, Bognor Regis, PO21 1ER.

19:30 to 21:00 (for everyone) The Lodge, Graylingwell Park, Chichester, PO19 6YS.

Thursday classes:
19:30 to 21:00 (for everyone)

New to capoeira? No worries! Complete beginners are welcome, whatever your fitness level or experience. You'll just need to wear to sports clothes to start - jogging bottoms, yoga pants, shorts etc are all fine; and a t shirt that's not to baggy.

Graduado Kung Fu's #22PushUpChallenge

My friend Simon Painter nominated me in the 22 push up challenge.

Here's how the challenge works:

-Video yourself doing 22 push-ups.
-Post the video to Facebook/YouTube.
-Feel free to challenge anyone to take up the challenge.

The challenge started in the US, where a report indicated that the rate of suicide amongst US veterans could be as high as 22 per day. The point of the challenge is to raise awareness of post traumatic stress disorder and suicide, especially amongst veterans of the Armed Forces and their loved ones. Did you know, for example, that the largest cause of death amonst men under 45 in the UK is suicide? The latest UK data shows an increase in the rate of suicide in women. Too many people are taking their own lives, and together we can help reduce this.

Whilst the challenge is to do 22 push ups, like many people I intend to do 22 push ups a day for 22 days. I also intend to take it up a level by both doing a different push up variant each day, and to mention a charity or organisation that helps people with their mental health. This will highlight 22 avenues of support available for those who may need it. Nobody needs to suffer in silence - help is out there.
